On Thursday evening, May 8, as the Georgia State Boys Track & Field Championships got underway, junior Robby Keough captured the title in the Boys Class A 1600m run, with a winning time of 4:21.84. Robby held off a challenge down the stretch from Galloway star Reilly Friedman. On Saturday afternoon, Robby will compete for a second state championship, as he takes to the track for the 800m final.
In the field events on Thursday afternoon, senior Austin Joseph took fourth place honors in the triple jump, with a leap of 42’½” and senior Jaylen Hudson took ninth place in the shot put, with a throw of 41’1½” .
Whitefield’s 4x100 relay team (consisting of sophomores Jordan Edge and Evan Johnson, senior JB Johnson, and junior Brandon Morris) will join Robby in Jefferson for Saturday’s competition.
