Whitefield Academy alumna Ansley Quiros (’04) returned to Whitefield on March 27 for a special coffee and conversation session on her book "God With Us: Lived Theology and the Black Freedom Struggle in Americus, Georgia, 1942-1976 (UNC, 2018)."
Standing in the Morris Hall Middle & Upper School Library, Ansley read excerpts from her book, which examines the struggle over race and Christian theology in Southwest Georgia, as well as answered questions. Following the program, Ansley chatted with staff and some of her former teachers before spending the remainder of the day visiting with a few Upper School classes and having lunch with math teacher Kyle Justice and his students.
Ansley is a college professor at the University of North Alabama.
