Whitefield Academy junior varsity football got off to a great start with a 50-30 win over North Cobb Christian. The competition included a stellar offensive production of over 500 yards, which included three WolfPack players accumulating more than 100 yards each.
The Pack took a 16-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Ajani Kerr (9th) led the Pack with 129 yards on five carries, followed by Lawrence Waters (11th) with 118 yards on seven carries. The running game was led by Jordan Edge (9th) with 114 yards on 12 carries. Other rushers included Sky Dupree (10th), Aaron Cauthen (9th), and J.T. Morris (9th).
Defensively, the Pack shut down North Cobb's running attack early in the contest, which resulted in an aerial attack in which Whitefield would eventually give up some big plays. Leading the defense with nine tackles and a fumble recovery was Lawrence. Freshman Ty McLemore had an impressive three tackles, which included a tackle for loss, a tackle for no gain, and a sack. Other Pack tacklers included freshmen TJ Carter, Jordan Greer, Jordan Edge, Ajani, and sophomore Ryan Wesley.
