The varsity volleyball team recently traveled to Pebblebrook High School for a tri-match against Pebblebrook and Campbell High School, both from 3AAAAAA.

Whitefield faced Pebblebrook in the first match. The Falcons, hoping to avenge its previous loss to the WolfPack, were again outgunned by the Pack, who took the match in three sets (23-25, 25-16, and 25-18). In the first set, the teams swapped points to a 9-9 tie. A series of unforced errors put the WolfPack into a nine-point hole at 13-22. From that point, Whitefield closed the gap to 17-23 when Sunni Dupree (9th) came on to serve. Sunni’s power service game brought the Pack back to a 23-23 tie, but the Falcons took the next two points and the set. In the second set, the Pack came alive at the net on offense and defense, cruising to a 25-10 win to force a third set. In set three, Whitefield pulled ahead on the strength of nine service aces; six of the aces were by senior Anna Moore, two by sophomore Kate MacPhail, and one by Sunni. This shut the Falcons down and Whitefield took the set (25-11) and the match.
