Varsity Volleyball Team Beats Mount Pisgah; Landers Holds Dig Record

The varsity volleyball team recently faced Mount Pisgah, taking the match in two games. Whitefield took the lead midway through the first game and pulled away to win 25-15. In the second game, Whitefield fell behind 9-13, but battled back on six straight points off serves from Morgan Landers along with a stellar team effort and held on to take the game and the match (25-17). Gracie Babcock, Morgan Landers and Sarah Stowe had two service aces each. Gracie Babcock led the attack at the net with three monster kills, followed by Morgan Landers and Anna Long with one each. Fantasia Remonvil sealed the match with a brutal kill shot and the celebration was on. Christal Dewberry led the defense at the net with four blocks. Anna Long continued her excellent defense at the net with three blocks. Gracie Babcock had two blocks and Emma Nash had one. Morgan Landers added to her season total with eight more digs in the match, followed by Gracie Babcock with six, Fantasia Remonvil with three and Anna Moore and Anna Long with one each.



A special shout-out goes to Morgan Landers for her ridiculous season total of digs! She currently leads the GHSA A/AA division in total digs with 146. She is currently 6th over all divisions A-AAAAA in total digs on the season.



The girls head into the heart of the Area schedule next Tuesday afternoon at Pace Academy in another crucial tri-match against Area 5 rivals, Pace and North Cobb Christian. Come out and support the Pack!
