MS Softball Team Defeats Rival Pace

Congratulations to the MS softball team, who defeated rival Pace Academy 12-9 away at Pace. The entire team contributed to the win.

Megan Rose Byers pitched every inning and had two key hits at the plate. Other key offensive successes include Molly Langella and Grace Blair's clutch line-drive singles. Lillian Hill also hit a rocket line drive to right field to score runs for the Pack. Brynn Thomas, Janae Montgomery, and Emily Kendrick all reached base as well. In the Pack's final at bat, Sadie Harmon was hit by a pitch to lead off, and Payton Sjoblom moved her into scoring position with a ground ball to the pitcher. Grace Blair reached base followed by Megan Rose Byers. Then, Carmyn Cosey, who already had a clutch hit earlier in the game, drove in the three winning runs with a line drive to right field.

Defensively, short stop Grace Blair and first baseman Dallas Watson led the team with key defensive plays. Molly Langella made two key plays at second. Second baseman Ruthie Evans made an amazing play behind the first base bag to steal a hit away from Pace, and Anna Blair caught every inning and had few past balls.
