The Whitefield community joined the women and children of 7 Bridges to Recovery ministry for an afternoon of fun and fellowship on Saturday, March 29. Organized by the National Honor Society, the day included a spa day for women, a field day for children, and a delicious dinner for the whole community. Students, parents, and friends of Whitefield volunteered to paint nails, style hair, oversee field day games, and cook dishes for the event.
“Thank you to everyone who was a part of the NHS event,” said Jesse Breite, Upper School English teacher and NHS advisor. “The day was a success, and members of the community compared the dinner to being ‘as good as Thanksgiving.’”
The 7 Bridges to Recovery ministry reaches out to the homeless of Atlanta with the good news of the gospel. The Garden faculty, located on Plant Atkinson Road, houses over 100 women and children. The ministry also has a program for men, which currently helps about 25 men.
