The Whitefield varsity baseball team added a win Wednesday, March 19, with a 6-0 victory over St. Francis at home. Strong pitching from Matt Olson (11th), who pitched five innings allowing only two hits and striking out seven players, and Bailey Combs (11th), who pitched two innings with three strikeouts, led to the region win.
The WolfPack offense got started with a leadoff homerun by Bradley Davidson (11th) in the second inning. Sam Fuller (9th) was 2-for-3 from the plate with two RBIs, and Ryan Wesley (11th) and Luke Miltner (10th) each contributed a hit and an RBI. John Schwartz (10th) added two hits and scored a run.
Mason Jones (9th) had another solid defensive effort at catcher and added a base hit.
The WolfPack are off to a 6-4 start and are 3-3 in Region 6 play. They take on a solid 2A Greater Atlanta Christian team at home Saturday, March 22, in a non-region game at 2 p.m. Go Pack!
