Varsity Girls Soccer Team Takes Down North Cobb
The varsity girls soccer team met area foe North Cobb Christian under the lights in the late game on
Tuesday. The Lady WolfPack's offense came to life as they were on the attack pinning the Lady Eagles back on defense the entire game. Frances Hamilton (12th) scored two goals (unassisted) and consistently controlled the midfield. Frances also assisted on goals by Sophie Kemether (12th) and Mary Kendrick (11th). Logan Pearce (11th), Kathryn Bracher (11th) and Gabby Boswell (11th) also did a great job keeping the offensive momentum going. Kate MacPhail (11th), Margaret Reed (11th), Caitlin Kleefeld (12th), Elaine Sharitz (12th), Mallory Fields (10th) and goalie Lauren Burke (9th) provided an impenetrable line of defense in the shut out. Final score was 4-0 in favor of the WolfPack. The girls travel to Dalton on Saturday to play Christian Heritage.
Varsity Tennis Teams Shut Out Kings Ridge
Both varsity tennis teams scored shutouts against Kings Ridge. The boys cruised through their matches. Singles winners were junior Justin Samples (6-4, 6-0), senior Matthew Landry (6-3, 6-10) and senior Bennett Shilling (6-0, 6-0). The doubles team of David Lemasters (12th) and Jay DeShong (11th) slammed their opponents 6-0,6-0. The second doubles team of Ruben Thomas and Holden Hosch won by forfeit.
The girls' team remains undefeated with their shutout win. Junior Rachel Hicks
persevered through long points against a formidable opponent to win in a third set tiebreaker (6-4,4-6,10-7). Other singles winners were seniors Kerry Anna Lemasters (6-1, 6-1) and Annie Sickling (6-0, 6-1.) The doubles team of Caroline Holliday (12th) and Megan Schwarzkopf (11th) won 6-1, 6-2. Megan Smith (10th) and Amanda Braselerio (11th) wrapped up the match with their doubles win 6-0, 6-1. The next match is home on Thursday against Landmark.
