Whitefield Lower School students took eight of a possible sixteen spots in the annual Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Spelling Bee on Friday, February 28 at First Baptist Christian School in Kennesaw.
This past January, spelling bees were held at each grade level to detemine the top spellers who would compete in the ACSI Bee.
"We are so proud of all our participants for their hard work in studying their spelling lists to prepare for the Bee," said Vicki Simms, third-grade teacher. "Students diligently practiced the say, spell, say method used in competition, which required much forethought, concentration and poise." Five teachers and several other parents accompanied students on the trip.
"We give praise to the Lord for enabling our sixteen spellers to represent Whitefield quite well among several area Christian schools," said Simms.
