The Boys of Fall were back in the heat of summer to take on the Darlington

Tigers for a pre-season scrimmage. The scrimmage was a multiple segment setup that included 16 plus parts showcasing offense, defense and special teams for both teams. The Wolfpack did a great job against a bigger team that was coming off a 10-2 season last year.

The game started with a couple of big defensive plays by Ryan Jones who knocked down the opening pass and just a few plays later intercepted one. The defense played well all night

with lots of big plays and hits. Jacob Southerland and Jay Fields led the team in tackles with 4 and 3.5 respectively. Jacob and Lorenzo Carter both had tackles for a loss against a solid offense.

Our offense also performed well led by quarterback Max Kemether (12-16 for 187 yards and a TD passing and 44 yards rushing). Our running game was led by Richard Sherrell who rushed for 29 yards in the game. On the receiving side of things, key receivers were: Max Rieves (4 catches for 34 yards), Ryan Jones (2 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown) and Jay Fields (2

catches for 33 yards). The evening finished with the kickers and was highlighted by the foot of Thomas East who made all of his kicks and was topped off by his final 40 plus yard field goal that would have easily gone for 50 yards.

Congratulations to everyone on a well played game. The team, coaches and staff all looked well prepared and ready for a great season. Mark your calendars for the teams’ opening game in two weeks against rival Walker at Walker on August 26 at 7:30 p.m.
