Congratulations to the Whitefield Academy students who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2019 National Spanish Exams. The students earned a total of five silver medals and seven bronze medals, along with 14 honorable mentions. Whitefield Academy students have a long history of high achievement on these exams and are taught by Spanish teachers, Señora Curling, Señorita Hester, and Señor Lezcano.

The National Spanish Examinations are online, standardized assessment tools for grades 6-12, given voluntarily by more than 4,000 teachers throughout the United States to measure proficiency and achievement of students who are studying Spanish as a second language. The National Spanish Examinations are the largest of their kind in the United States with more than 146,000 students participating in 2019.
