Eight AP Computer Science students attended the annual AP Bowl at Georgia Tech on April 20. The competition, which involves taking a test similar to the multiple-choice portion of the AP Computer Science exam, drew a field of more than 200 students from metro-Atlanta high schools.
For the third time in four years, a Whitefield student finished in 1st place. Lindsey Fry was the only student to earn a perfect score by answering all 40 questions correctly. Scott Hellier also had an outstanding performance, taking 2nd place after missing only one problem. Brooke Bergeron and Chase Watson each scored 37 out of 40 to finish in a tie for 5th place.
Julian Munoz, Matthew Hogan, Joel McKinney, and Micah Messner also performed well in the competition.
