The 14th annual Lower School campout was held at Camp Highland in the beautiful mountains of Ellijay Sept. 15-16. New and returning families joined together for a weekend of fun, worship, and quality time outside enjoying God’s amazing creations.

Festivities included a delicious barbecue dinner, followed by a game of kickball of dads against kids. Afterwards everyone enjoyed a beautiful fireworks display that lit up the Georgia skies over the camp by master pyrotechnic Craig Miller. The evening was topped off with s’mores by the campfire. There was even an opportunity for those who wanted to cool down to go for a swim in the gorgeous Carters Lake.

The next day included the families gathering together for worship, with songs performed by Camp Highlands very own Zack and Company. The main message and devotional was led by Dan Young about Frosty Westering, an amazing coach and mentor to young man. The group then gathered around with each dad giving some amazing affirmations and put-ups about each child.

Special thanks to all of the volunteers and staff members who help to make this event possible for our second-, third, and fourth-grade families. The Lower School Campout is supported by the Whitefield Fund, formerly the Annual Fund.
