Seniors Lauren Burke and William Hellier were chosen by Whitefield's 15 varsity head coaches as the recipients of the 2017 Vince J. Dooley Award. This award is presented to one male and one female athlete in every high school in Georgia for their exemplary character, leadership both on and off the field, the positive influence they exercise in their lives, and the difference they make in the lives of others.
Both students will receive a plaque as recognition of this achievement and have the opportunity to compete for a four-year, $1,000 per year college scholarship given to one male and one female athlete each year.
