Last week started with exciting victories for our Middle School soccer teams, as both boys and girls claimed the Metro10 championship titles! Congratulations to both teams on great seasons! WolfPup athletes also got in on the action last week, as 75 third- through sixth-grade students competed at the annual Perimeter Track Meet on Friday.

On Thursday we celebrated the senior athletes that will be competing in college athletics next year. The gym floor was filled, as 21 percent of our graduating class signed to compete in softball, football, swimming, basketball, soccer, baseball, track, and lacrosse. For pictures from this event and more information on the plans of these 14 athletes, click here. Congratulations to these seniors and their families! Thank you for your contribution to WolfPack athletics over the years. Even as you take on new colors and mascots, you’ll always be a part of the Pack, and we’ll always be rooting for you!

Boys varsity soccer continued in their quest for a state championship on Wednesday, defeating Aquinas in the second round of playoffs, and competing on Saturday in the quarterfinal round against Atlanta International School. Saturday’s game was a white out for WolfPack fans, and the team ultimately brought home a 1-0 victory. You can find the bracket for this tournament here. The Pack will compete again in the final four on Tuesday, May 9, at 7 p.m. at home against Hebron Christian.

This week, varsity track and field will be taking 13 athletes to Berry College to compete in the GHSA state meet. The WolfPack will be competing in 12 events; read more about the athletes who have qualified here. We’ll also begin tryouts for some of our fall sports, including varsity softball and JV and varsity volleyball.

As the school year begins to wrap up and we have the opportunity to think through some of the highlights from this year, I’m again reminded of the many parents that have put in countless hours to ensure that things run smoothly throughout the year. Thank you for volunteering to run scoreboards, keep books, serve in the concession stands, coordinate on behalf of coaches, and creatively encourage our athletes. Whitefield athletics truly could not function without you! Thank you for enabling our coaches and athletes to spend their time focused on their sport, and thank you for tirelessly cheering them on as they do. You are a key part of the WolfPack team, and we’re so grateful for you!
