One of the vital aspects of Whitefield’s success is continuing to attract mission-appropriate families. Over the summer, Whitefield strategically combined the admissions and communications departments to form an enrollment management team. The goal of enrollment management is to attract and retain families who are seeking the unique combination of a Christ-centered, college preparatory education that Whitefield provides.
Leading the enrollment management team on a part-time basis is Marsha Burke. Many of you know Marsha as a long-time Whitefield parent and former board member. In addition, she has a wealth of high-level leadership experience with WellStar Health Systems.
With the retirement of Linda Simpson, Michelle Marriott has begun her new role as director of admissions. Sonya Ayers continues in her vital role as assistant to the director of admissions. A search is currently being conducted for an assistant director of admissions to provide further support in the admissions office.
Our communications department has also experienced some changes recently with the departures of Tim Turner and Heidi Wright. In light of these changes, we have welcomed Katie Tuck to Whitefield as our internal communications director. Previously, Katie served for several years as director of marketing and communications at a Christ-centered, independent school in Augusta. In addition, Cindy Fennel will shift from the advancement office and join the communications team as director of public relations to lead our efforts in external communications. In addition to Cindy’s experience at Whitefield, Cindy brings a very strong background to the team in public relations and marketing, including 12 years of experience with the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. As marketing manager, Paige Getchell will continue to manage graphic design, along with the website, photography, videography, and marketing research efforts.
The enrollment management team is already seeking input from Whitefield families. The results of the parent communication survey completed this summer will result in upgrades to the morning announcements along with more streamlined communications and an initiative to engage parents in telling the stories of Whitefield in the community. We believe this structure will optimize our ability to enroll more great students at Whitefield in the years ahead!
