Whitefield’s Middle School lacrosse team hit the road for the final regular season game of the year vs. Druid Hills and brought home a dominate 17-1 win. The match was marked by great team play by the WolfPack particularly on offense where 12 different players contributed to goals on the day. Leading the way was Tyler Fay (7th) with three goals, followed by Ryan Washington (7th), Alex Bauer (6th), and Hudson Weller (7th) with two goals each. Justus Nour (6th), Juanes Henao (6th), Kaleb Carmack (7th), Henry Hamilton (6th), David Alan Stith (7th), Gavin Bechtel (6th), Benjamin Herschend (6th), and Jack Overstreet (8th) all contributed a goal each, with several earning their first goal of the season. The big win was truly a team effort!
Although the offense was on display, the defense also did their part, holding Druid Hills to a single goal for the entire game and contributing a couple of goals from the defensive side of the field (Henry and David Alan). Leading the team in takeaways was Alex Bauer and Travis McDonald. Significant play by Nick Ryder (8th), Jack Prybis (7th), and Perry LeBlanc (6th) kept Druid Hills at bay and the pressure off goalie Aiden Carbonell (7th), who still contributed three saves in the match.
In the end, Druid Hills was overmatched in numbers and skill and the WolfPack emerged with a victory to end the regular season triumphantly.
This weekend, Whitefield travels to Kell High School to wrap up the season with the Metro Atlanta Youth Lacrosse Association (MAYLA) tournament. Four games in two days offers lots of opportunity to come out and support the Pack!
