Sophomore Matthew Sumlin recently completed his Eagle Scout project with the help of some fellow Whitefield classmates.

Matthew built new dugout seating for the Whitefield softball team just in time for the softball home opener on August 16. Sophomore Matthew Oluyide and junior Chip Goldsmith joined Sumlin on a recent Saturday to assemble the benches in the dugout. The Kendricks, a Whitefield family and owners of Commercial Signs, Inc., generously donated the work to have the WolfPack logo carved into the back of the benches.

Matthew is part of Boy Scout Troop 232 from Northwest Presbyterian Church, along with several other Whitefield students: Chip Goldsmith, Michael McCarthy, and Jimmy McCarthy. Matthew is on track to obtain Eagle Scout rank in the near future.
