Whitefield teachers were pleasantly surprised on Wednesday, May 4, when they arrived at school to find three walls full of notes of appreciation from students in honor of Teachers Appreciation Day. The Lower School porch, the Middle School outer wall outside the art room, and the front windows of Morris Hall were all covered in notes.
Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School students expressed gratitude for the teachers’ role in their lives, acknowledging their sacrifices and commitment to not only teaching well, but also modeling Christ. Notes were written to the teachers in general, as well as to specific teachers. Here are just a few examples of the many, many words of appreciation posted to the walls:
I appreciate my teachers because they are always there to help me learn and grow as a student. They are committed not only to helping me understand the material, but they are fully invested in helping me throughout my life and my future. – Upper School student
The teachers at Whitefield are amazing because they care about our lives and faith instead of just our grades. They try to teach us life-long lessons and prepare us for the future, and they have found creative and unique ways to do it. As I like to put it, they have a passion for teaching. – Middle School student
