On Tuesday afternoon, April 12, the WolfPack varsity girls tennis team defeated Fellowship Christian to punch their ticket into the regional tournament which will be held on Monday, April 18. At line #1 singles, Hannah Morris's (9th) steady ground strokes and scrappy play earned her a huge 6-1, 6-0 win. At line #2 singles, Keri Quillin's (9th) consistency and determination kept her in a tight match. After losing the first set tie breaker, Keri kept up the pressure and took the second set with one break, then went on to win the match tie breaker. Her final score was 6-7, 7-5, 10-7. Sherina Thomas (9th) at line #3 singles also played a close match, winning the first set tie breaker, stumbling in the second set but rallying for the win in the third set tie breaker. Sherina’s final score was 7-6, 1-6, 10-5. Ansley Guthrie (11th) and Sarah Davis (9th) fought hard but couldn't pull out the win at line #1 doubles. Olivia Veenendaal-Casper (9th) and Alex Kelly (10th) also lost a heartbreaker at line #2 doubles. Congratualtions ladies, and good luck at the regional tournament!
