Whitefield kindergartners recently attended The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe play at the Alliance Theater. The hour-long adaptation was based on C.S. Lewis’s beloved novel and portrayed the adventures of four siblings – Peter, Susan, Lucy, and Edmund, as they walked through the wardrobe and into the land of Narnia. Whitefield kindergartners watched the magical performance in fascination, were enamored with the lion Aslan, and
rooted against the evil White Witch.
“The students loved the different characters and the main character, Aslan,” said Adrienne Margine, kindergarten teacher. “As we go into Holy Week, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe ties in beautifully with the Easter story of love, faith, and redemption. It was a great field trip.”
The Alliance Theatre, located in downtown Atlanta, strives to engage and educate the local community through powerful theatrical performance on stages and in the classroom.
