Middle School Soccer Teams Beat North Cobb

The Middle School soccer teams beat North Cobb Christian on Thursday, March 17; the boys won 4-0 and the girls beat the War Eagles 4-2.



The boys defense was so strong that goalie Walker Smith only had to touch the ball three times during the contest to earn the shutout. The man of the match was Jack Valentine (7th) who created numerous opportunities while seventh graders Scott Hellier and Joel McKinney as well as eighth graders Jason Dinschel and KJ Johnson added goals. Congrats to Joel for his first WolfPack goal and also for adding an assist.



The girls team earned two quick goals in the first by Sophia Megathlin (7th) and Grayson Nour (8th). The Eagles scored two goals, bringing it to a tie game at the half way point.  During the second half, the WolfPack came out strong both offensively and defensively, scoring two more goals: one by Sophia and a header goal by Avery Fassnacht (7th). 



Both teams will continue their run on Tuesday, March 22, against Fellowship Christian.



Whitefield Middle School Tennis Team Captures Win Against King's Academy

The Middle School tennis team captured their first win of the season against King's Academy on Thursday.  The Lady Pack was strong, dominating King's Academy.  Isabelle Jordan (7th), Kylie Weihe (8th), and Caroline Schmitt (6th) won single lines 1, 2, and 3, respectively.  Kayleigh Golden (7th) and Kristen Peavy (6th) were winners at line #1 doubles, while Mary Rose Schwarzkopf (7th) and Lauren Miller (7th) triumphed at line 2 doubles.  Maura Griffin (7th) and Gracen Chally (6th) also pulled off a win at line 3 doubles.



The boys team was led by Brian Holsinger (7th), Ronny Berry (6th), and Peyton Golden (6th) with strong wins at the single lines.  Line 1 doubles players Daniel D'Arcy (6th) and TJ Miller (6th) played hard but fell short, while line 2 doubles players Tyler Wilkes (6th) and Hampton Scott (6th) had a solid win.  John Robert Bracher (6th) and Rhodes Scott (6th) also won at line 3 doubles.



The tennis team travels to Eastside Christian on Tuesday, March 22, and then hosts a home match against Mount Paran on Thursday, March 24.  Go WolfPack!



Middle School Track and Field Competes in First Meet



Whitefield Academy Middle School track and field team competed at Woodward Academy for their first meet. Both teams had an excellent showing, placing third in the meet. Some highlights include the girls’ 4x400 meter team which included Elise Smith (6th), Sydney Schulte (8th), Amanda King (6th), and Emily Little (6th) beat the second place team by over 17 seconds. The boys 4x100 meter team  of Jaden Davis-King (6th), Eric Little (7th),  Micah Teasley (8th), and Micah Smith (9th) set a Whitefield record at 50.74, placing second. The team also had strong individual performances in the girls 400 meter. Amanda placed first with a time of 1:05.16, and Sydney placed fourth with a time of 1:11.08.  Emily continues to amaze with wins in every event she competed including the 1600 meter (5:39.23), the 800 meter (2:36.89), and as the anchor on the winning 4x400 meter team (4:45.66). On the boys' side, the 200 meter event took first, second, and third with a win by Micah S. with a time of 24.55. The boys also excelled in the field events.  Alex Martin (8th) threw the discus landing a PR of 59' and threw the shot put 26' 1".  AJ Hopkins (8th) and Drew Thomas (8th) tried the high jump for the first time with Drew placing 7th at 4’8” and AJ placing fourth going 4'11".  Way to go Middle School WolfPack track and field!
