The varsity soccer teams both defeated Landmark Christian on Tuesday night, March 15. The girls shut out Landmark 6-0, while the boys defeated the War Eagles 2-0.
The girls team started scoring quickly with two goals by Ryan Llewellyn (10th). Logan Pearce (12th) and Macy Kendrick (10th) each followed with a goal. During the second half, the offense put two more goals on the board. Anna Grace Kwon (9th) had one goal and one assist to Ryan.
The boys team narrowly squeezed out a win with the help of a gritty defense and two goals, both scored by William Hellier (11th). William's first half goal came from a corner kick which bent into the back side of the net. The tying goal came in the second half off a Landmark corner kick. William added the winning goal in the first three minutes of overtime driving a long ball with top spin over the Landmark keeper. The Pack's defensive stance, which held the Landmark attack in check, came from keeper John Matherne (10th) and defenders Aaron Harges (11th), JB Cantrell (12th), Jakob Burkette (10th), Kerry Martin (12th), and Simon Sengson (9th).
