Congratulations to sophomore Brooks Merkle who was named to the Marietta Daily Journal All-County swim team. Brooks had a very successful swim season, competing in the 200m individual medley and the 100m breaststroke. He placed first in the 100m breaststroke at the Metro Swim/Dive Championship, with a time of 1:00.29. The Metro Meet is one of the largest meets in the state, attended by 36 schools, ranging from 1A-6A. Brooks also placed sixth in the boys 200m individual medley at the Metro Meet with a time of 2:06.05.
Throughout the season, Brooks improved his times and excelled in a sea of highly competitive swimmers. He made junior national cuts in the 100m and 200m breaststroke while competing with the Dynamo Swim Club and also placed fourth in state in the 100m breaststroke. We are proud of you, Brooks!
