Congratulations to Donovan Pearce (9th) who earned a spot playing trumpet on the District 12 All-State Honor Band for ninth and tenth-grade musicians. Donovan auditioned for the band this past December and played a concert with the group this past week. He competed against dozens of other trumpet players to earn a spot in the band. District 12 is a very competitive region for instrumentalists, because it includes all the large Cobb County public and private schools. The rigorous audition included playing major scales, chromatic scales, and a prepared etude as well as sight-reading.
