Whitefield Academy held its annual Sweetheart Ball in the Lower School Student Activity Center (LSSAC) on Saturday, January 23. Almost every Lower School girl attended the event, with a total of 250 girls and their escorts dancing the night away. The LSSAC was transformed into a beautiful fairyland, following the night's theme of “An Evening in the Enchanted Garden"
The girls and their escorts put on their finest party dresses, suits, and tuxedos to enjoy dancing and music from a local disc jockey. The disc jockey played an assortment of music from Golden Oldies for the dads to current pop music for the girls. There were sweet slow dances and dance contests which kept the dance floor full and lively. Towards the end of the dance,
this year's fourth-grade class was invited to the dance floor for a special slow dance with their dates to celebrate their last Sweetheart Ball before moving to Middle School next year.
Each family had a professional photo taken in their beautiful attire. In addition to dancing, everyone enjoyed the dessert buffet complete with lots of scrumptious “fairy dust cupcakes,” “fairy fruit wands,” and “pixie punch.” All food and drinks were donated by Whitefield's amazing Lower School parents.
A special thanks to all the parent volunteers who organized and worked at the event.
