The Whitefield WolfPack found the win column in two region challenges last week against the Mount Paran Eagles and the Carrollton Trojans.
On Thursday the Pack took down visiting Mount Paran, 16-6. The Eagles struck first, but the Pack took the lead a few minutes later and never looked back.
The smothering defense snagged 35 groundballs. The defense was led by Sky DuPree (12th) with eight; Marcus Jones (12th) with five; David Ballew (12th) with four; and William Charles (11th), Carter Dixon (10th), Carson Brown (10th) and Jonathan Wood (10th), each with three.
The air attack was led by Marcus and Jonathan with four goals each; David and William with three each; and Sky and Mitchell Ryan (10th) each with a goal. David led all assists with three; and Marcus, William, and Jonathan each had one.
On Saturday morning, the WolfPack defeated Carrollton, 11-3, in a match that had been rescheduled due to rain. The offense included a first goal by Jack Fitzgerald (10th), and two shots on goal by Michael McCarthy (9th). Scoring was led by William and David with three goals each; Jonathan with two; and Mitchell, Jack and Thomas Joiner (9th) with one each.
The Pack defense hunted down 34 groundballs. Sky led with six; Marcus, William, Mitchell, Connor Callan
(10th), Carter, and Joseph Schwartz (9th) each had three; Jack and Carson had two; and David, Jonathan, Bradley Washington (10th), KJ Cainion (9th), Thomas Joiner (9th), Wills McCutcheon (9th) each had one.
Varsity Lacrosse (7-6, 7-4) plays their final two games of the regular season this week at Sequoyah High School on Wednesday and the Darlington School on Friday.
