The varsity baseball team beat Mount Zion Friday, 17-0, in four innings for a region victory. The offense was led by Matt Olson (12th) who was three-for-three at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs, and Ryan Wesley (12th) who was two-for-two with a three run homer and four RBIs. Will Brogan (11th) and Luke Miltner (11th) each added a hit and two RBIs and John Schwartz (11th) was two-for-two with a double and an RBI. Jimmy McCarthy (10th) was two-for-three with a double and an RBI and Robert Boyd (10th) added a base hit and an RBI.
Luke got the win on the mound, allowing only two hits in three innings and striking out five Eagle batters. Sam Fuller (10th) closed in the fourth with three strikeouts to complete the third straight win shortened by the “run rule”.
Saturday night, the Pack bested the Christian Heritage Lions 2-0 in a region contest at LakePoint. Matt got the win on the mound, pitching six scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and striking out four Lion batters. Nile Ball (12th) closed in the seventh with two strikeouts, giving him his second save of the season.
Offensively, the Pack was held to only four hits, but a two RBI triple in the first inning by Bradley Davidson (12th) proved to be the difference. Sam Fuller (10th) added a double and Jimmy stayed hot, going two-for-two at the plate.
The Pack moves to 12-2 on the season with their sixth and seventh consecutive win. The Pack plays today at home against Mount Pisgah at 5 p.m. in a big region contest. Go Pack!!
