The varsity baseball team moves to 8-2 for the season after two weekend wins. The team beat North Cobb Christian in five innings on Friday, 11-1, and beat Mount Vernon on Saturday, 5-1. The Pack bats were on fire Friday with three home runs (one a grand slam), a triple, and a double for a total of 11 hits and nine RBIs. Thanks to another huge day at the plate for Bailey Combs (12th), and great pitching from Ryan Wesley (12th), the Pack pulled off another big region win.
Offensively, the Pack was led by Bailey who was two-for-three at the plate with four RBIs on a grand slam in the third inning. Bradley Davidson (12th) was two-for-three with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth and a double for three RBIs; and Sam Fuller (10th) added a two-run homer in the fifth inning, going two-for-three at the plate for two RBIs. John Schwartz (11th) added a triple in the fifth for an RBI to run rule the Eagles. Luke Miltner (11th) added an RBI as well.
Ryan got the win on the mound, pitching three strong innings and allowing only two hits and no earned runs with three strikeouts. Bailey closed the last two innings with four strikeouts.
Saturday, the Pack was at LakePoint Park against Mount Vernon, winning 5-1. Luke got the win on the mound going six innings, allowing only two hits and no earned runs with five strikeouts. Nile Ball (12th) closed in the last inning with two strikeouts.
Nile was two-for-three at the plate with two singles; John was two-for-four at the plate with an RBI; and Matt Olson (12th), Ryan, and Bradley each added an RBI. while Sam, Bailey, and Bradley each doubled.
