The Whitefield community celebrated Christmas with much joy and enthusiasm, thanking God for the wonderful gift of His son, Jesus Christ. Here are just a few of the events held both on and off campus in celebration of the Christmas season.
The Whitefield jazz band performed at the City of Smyrna tree lighting festival and also the Vinings Village tree lighting festival.
Lower School parents treated students to hot chocolate and cookies following the annual toy parade.
Middle School and Upper School musicians performed at the annual Cookies and Carols concert. The concert featured the Whitefield jazz band, concert bands, and orchestra ensembles and was followed by a reception of delicious holiday treats.
Lower School students held a Christmas concert under the direction of new music teacher Steve Henson. Classes performed traditional Christmas hymns and some fun melodies.
The Middle School chorus held a concert on Thursday evening, December 11, which included singing and skits.
Upper School students held a decorating contest in Morris Hall, with seniors winning the prize for their SuperHero themed Christmas.
The Middle School Junior National Honor Society decorated the Middle School tree with photograph ornaments of each advisee class.
Middle School students performed for family and friends at a special concert in the Middle School chapel area.
The entire Whitefield community met for an all-school chapel. Second graders recited the second chapter of Luke, the Lower School Chorale sang, the Middle School Chorus sang, Upper School principal Jason Van Bemmel spoke, and the community sang Christmas songs together.
