Whitefield Academy started off the 2014-2015 school year with energy, purpose, and a whole lot of fun. Here are a few highlights from last week:
Monday, August 11
Senior Seminar
The college counseling department held a mandatory senior seminar to prepare students for the college application process.
Back to School Picnic
This wonderful tradition is always a great time to meet as a community for delicious food, fun games, and wonderful conversation. Before the picnic, each school held an Open House to tour the facilities, set up lockers and get prepared for the first day of school.
Tuesday, August 12
First Day of School
Whitefield welcomed 767 students to campus, with 174 new students (from 70 different schools, 6 states, and 3 countries). It was an exciting day!
Lower School Orientation
PreK4 and kindergarten parents dropped their children off with smiling faculty members and attended an orientation led by Lower School principal Jeannie Brostrand and Lower School Counselor Vesta Jones.
Wednesday, August 13
Sports, sports, sports!
Team tryouts, practices and games began! It’s great to see our fields andgym in full use again!
Thursday, August 14
New Parent Coffee
New parents mingled together over coffee and learned the ins and outs of life at Whitefield.
All-School Chapel
Whitefield held its All-School opening chapel in The Grand Amphitheater, beginning the program with the beautiful tradition of seniors walking kindergarten students into the service.
Varsity Football Scrimmage
The varsity football team met North Cobb Christian in its first home scrimmage in preparation for the season.
Friday, August 15
Parent Prayer Kickoff
Whitefield parents gathered together to dedicate the year with prayer. Participants prayed for our students, faculty, and administrators.
