The Whitefield varsity volleyball team opened the regular season last week in Suwanee with matches against AAAAA Peachtree Ridge and Central Gwinnett. The WolfPack more than held their own against bigger and stronger competition and ended the day 1-1 on the young season, with a loss to Peachtree Ridge (11-25, 18-25) and a win over Central Gwinnett (25-6, 25-18).

Anna Moore and Gracie Babcock's strong serves dominated the match vs. C. Gwinnett with 12 aces between them. Morgan Landers continued her strong defensive work on the back line. Coach Casey Brothers said, "Our girls stepped up and brought home a win against much larger schools. They also learned a lot."

Freshman Kelsey Butler did well on the front line with several kills in her first varsity matches. Senior Sarah Stowe contributed with strong passing skills, setting up several Wolfpack points.
