The Middle School lacrosse team played two games on Saturday, February 23, against St. Pius and Marist. In the morning, the WolfPack raced out to a 3-0 lead against St. Pius on goals by Jonathan Wood (8th), Brad Becker (7th), and Sam Hamilton (8th). St. Pius fought back and led at the half 4-3. The teams traded goals until Whitefield pulled away for a 10-7 win after rattling off five straight goals, including two each by Sid Brendel (8th) and Carter Dixon (8th).
In the afternoon game, the WolfPack jumped to an early lead against Marist and cruised to a 15-1 win on the backs of a strong defensive effort lead by Brenner McCutcheon (8th), Connor Callan (8th), Carson Brown (8th), Jordan Howard (6th), and goalies Bradley Washington (8th), Wills McCutcheon (8th), and Noah Howard (6th). Sid led all scorers with six goals and an assist, followed by Brad (3 goals), Jonathan (2 goals and an assist), seventh grader Jack Charles (two goals and an assist), Sam (1 goal), and Carter (1 goal). The Middle School team is back in action again on March 16 against Sutton Middle School (4-0) and last year's league champion Fellowship Christian (3-1).
