Kenneth Gaines, Whitefield senior, recently committed to playing college basketball in the Southeastern Conference with the University of Georgia after he graduates. Kenny averaged 21 points per game for Whitefield last season, helping to lead the WolfPack team to its third consecutive appearance in the state semifinals.
"Kenny had quite a few schools recruiting him," said Tyrone Johnson, Whitefield Varsity Boys Basketball coach. "He had Georgia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, and Iowa recuiting him...but when Kenny went on his officiat visit to Georgia, I knew that he had his heart set on Georgia."
