Varsity Lacrosse Team Remains Undefeated In Area Play
The varsity lacrosse team extended their season record to 9 -1 last night by defeating Carrollton 16 -1. The defense played strong all night, not allowing a goal until the final three minutes of the game. Goalies Ty McLemore (10th) and Bradley Washington (9th) each had two saves.
Ten different players contributed goals with Jonathan Wood (9th) leading the scoring with three goals and four assists. David Ballew (11th) had two goals and two assists. Alex Manning (12th) had two goals and one assist. Harrison Weller (12th) and Marcus Jones (11th) each had two goals. Justin Brendel (12th) and Mitchell Ryan (9th) each had one goal and one assist. Braelen Phillips (12th), Cole Barber (11th) and Sid Brendel (9th) each added a goal.
Whitefield varsity lacrosse remains undefeated in area play at 5 – 0. They begin a challenging five game schedule with the top ranked teams in their area starting with a home game against Pace Academy on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Come out and support the Pack!
Varsity Girls Soccer Team Beats Darlington
The varsity girls soccer team took on Area foe Darlington School last night under the lights at home.
The Lady WolfPack came out on the attack from the start. Frances Hamilton (12th) crossed to Mary Kendrick (11th) who scored five minutes into the game. The girls kept the pressure on and Whitefield took a 1-0 lead into halftime. The rain started again in the second half, pouring for a solid 20 minutes. Whitefield had numerous shots, with Kathryn Bracher (11th), Gabby Boswell (11th) and Sophie Kemether (12th) playing strong offense. With four minutes left in the game, Logan Pearce (10th) punched one in with the assist going to Caitlin Kleefeld (12th). Goalie Lauren Burke (9th) had some beautiful saves and solid defense was played by Elaine Sharitz (12th) and Margaret Reed (11th). The girls will take on Pace at home today at 5 p.m. - come out and support the Pack!
