Whitefield Academy will graduate its 16th class of superlative students in graduation exercises on May 17 and 18, 2013. To date, this class of outstanding seniors has been awarded over $4.1 million in grants and scholarships.

The baccalaureate will be Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m. in  the Lower School Student Activity Center. The Rev. Canon Steven J. Saul, father of senior Brennan Saul, will be the guest speaker. Saul currently serves as the Cannon of the Diocese of the Westerm Gulf Coast of the Anglican Church.

Commencement services will be Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. at Mount Paran Church. Reverend R.V. Brown, president of Outreach to America’s Youth, will give the keynote address.

“In 20 years of teaching and leading young people, as well as watching other schools around Atlanta do the same, I am convinced you will not find another school outside of Whitefield Academy that graduates a group of alumni with a stronger combination of strength of intellect, maturity in Christ, and diversity of giftedness,” said interim headmaster Dr. Kevin Bracher.

“I am humbled and honored to stand amongst this class of 2013, shake their hands, and welcome them as we shift our relationship from that of headmaster/student to mentor/friend," he added.

Joining Brown and Bracher at the podium will be valedictorian and Georgia Tech incoming freshman Holt Merkle; and salutatorian and future University of Georgia scholar Morgan Landers.

“The days ahead are bittersweet,” continued Bracher. “These students are the heartbeat of Whitefield, and we cherish our time with each and every one of them. We look to the future, though, with excitement as we welcome over 75 new families who join us in the fall, and celebrate the traditions that define our covenant community.”
