The Pack won the Dunwoody League Championship on Monday night, April 22. The first inning saw great defense by the Pack, the lead-off batter for Ridgeview reached on a single and then was picked off first by pitcher Jimmy McCarthy (8th). After giving up another single the Pack turned a double play on a ball back to the pitcher. The Pack could not score in the bottom of the first even though Jacob Pitts (7th) and Jimmy had singles.
The second inning saw Ridgeview jump out to a 4-0 lead, the big hit was a triple to drive in two runs. Jake Lewis (7th) led off the bottom of the second with a triple and scored on a single by Griffin Combs (8th). The third inning found the Pack down 4-1. Ridgeview added a run in the third on two singles and a walk to take a 5-1 lead. The Pack came back in the bottom of third with 2 runs, Jacob singled and Sam Fuller (8th) hit a towering home run to left field. Sam came in to pitch in relief of Jimmy and held Ridgeview scoreless in the fourth inning.
Jack Fitzgerald (8th) hit a double in the bottom of the fourth and scored after a throwing error by Ridgeview on a hit by Coleman Miller (7th), Jacob drove in Coleman and the Pack was tied going into the 5th inning. Sam walked two and struck out three batters in the 5th to keep the score tied, the Pack could do nothing in the bottom of the 5th and the score remained tied.
The sixth inning saw a great defensive play by West Peterson
(6th) on a line drive double play, the Pack again went three up three down and the game went to the 7th inning tied. Ridgeview started the 7th with a fly out to Jack in center, the next batter reached when he was hit by a pitch, the Pack then got some help on a double play when the runner interfered with the defense and was called out. The Pack needed to score one run in the bottom of the 7th to win the game. Coleman singled and Russell Bell (6th) was brought in to run for him, Russell stole second and was driven to third on a single by Jacob. Jimmy came to the plate with one out and a runner on 1st and 3rd and singled to center field to drive in the winning run.
