The Middle School lacrosse team improved its overall record to 12-4 this past week and secured the third seed and home field advantage for the upcoming AMSLL playoffs.  The WolfPack traveled to Mt. Paran on Tuesday afternoon for two league games against the Eagles and the St. Pius Golden Lions. After slow starts in both games, the WolfPack found the back of the net more often and cruised to a 13-6 victory over the Eagles and a 10-4 victory over the Golden Lions.  Preston Bates (8th) and Mitchell Ryan (8th) both netted two goals in the games.  Josh Turner (8th) and Robert Matherne (6th) also contributed goals, while Sid Brendel (8th) led all scorers with nine goals and three assists.

On Saturday, the team traveled to Kennesaw for games against the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs and the Fellowship Christian Paladins.  The WolfPack jumped out to a quick lead against the Mustangs and never looked back.  Josh, Mitchell, and Camden Evans (6th) each contributed goals, while Bradley Washington (8th), Wills McCutcheon (7th), and Noah Howard (6th) turned in solid goalie play en route to a 14-2 victory. The WolfPack squared off against the Paladins in the second game of the day, seeking to avenge a loss earlier in the season. Whitefield dominated on ground balls, time of possession, and shots, but the Paladins kept the game close throughout, never letting the WolfPack get up by more than two goals.  Late in the fourth quarter, the Paladins capitalized on a series of penalties and rang up three quick man up goals to secure a 5-4 win over the WolfPack.

With the three wins this week, the lacrosse team has compiled an 11-3 league record and secured a bye in the first round of the playoffs. The team will host Blessed Trinity on Thursday night at 7:15 p.m. at the Whitefield stadium. One more win will earn the WolfPack a berth in the Final Four tournament to be held on Saturday at Whitefield stadium.  Let's go Pack!
