Whitefield seventh and eighth graders enjoyed friends and dancing at the annual Middle School dance held in the Barnett Gathering Room and outside on the Whitmire Pavilion. It was a gorgeous night with lanterns lining the pathway down the stairs to the pavilion. Boys waited for the girls to arrive and the whole gang entered the BGR when the doors opened at 7:15 p.m.
Inside the BGR was the "Sand Bar Candy Buffet & "Twinkling Sky" made of blue and white tulle and white lights. Following the theme, "The Beach Ball," surfboards, a Surf Shack, and a surfmobile decorated the room; all the decorations made for great photo opportunities and crazy group pictures. DJ William spun some fabulous top 40 hits as well as some back-to-back slow songs to allow the boys to work up their nerve and actually dance with the girls before the songs ended.
Kids were able to go in and out of the dance and sit by the firepit outside which was under the lit Chinese lanterns. It was a perfect night that even the eighth graders deemed a success!
