The varsity volleyball team made the long trip up I-75 to Dalton on Tuesday evening to face area foes Gordon Lee and newcomer Christian Heritage School.
Needing a win to improve their position in the area standings, Whitefield faced Gordon Lee in the first match of the evening. The WolfPack was slow to get on track in the first set and lost the set 16-25. Whitefield battled back and flipped the score from the first set to take the second set 25-16 and forced a third set. Gordon Lee won the deciding set 18-25 to win the match.
In the second match, the WolfPack took on a rested Christian Heritage team. Whitefield was beat in the first set 15-25. In the second set, the Pack found a groove and rebounded to take the set 26-24 in overtime to force a crucial third set. Again needing a win, the WolfPack was able to scratch out a tense 27-25 win, again in overtime, to win the set and the match against Christian Heritage.
