Have a wonderful summer, WolfPack!
WolfPack athletics continued to grow and thrive! Click here to read about some of the highlights from the year, including varsity football competing in the playoffs, Metro10 championship victories, varsity boys soccer earning second in the state championship, and four senior athletes signing to compete on the college level!
The fine arts also remained vibrant at Whitefield! With countless performing, visual, and literary art opportunities, our students had an outstanding year of building on the creativity and gifts that God has placed within them!
In its second year of existence, Whitefield’s Great Day of Service grew from 800 participants in 2017 to 1,100 participants in 2018! After beginning the day with praise and worship, we served 32 organizations across Atlanta together.
Teachers continued to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences for students of all ages! From hatching chicks in sixth-grade science to learning about parts and wholes with pizza to writing the stories of retirement community residents, we watched our students grow and learn, earning a handful of exciting awards and honors along the way. These included being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society, earning a spot in the National Spelling Bee, participating in the AP Bowl at Georgia Tech, earning excellent rankings on the National Spanish Exam, and more.
Upper School students participated in their first-ever J-term, a one-week learning intensive in which students immerse themselves in a topic of their choosing. Click here to watch a video from our inaugural year of this program!
The Whitefield community came together for the Going Places Auction 2019, enjoying an incredible time of fellowship and ultimately raising $374,041 towards upgrades to the Morris Hall library and the Leaving a Legacy Campaign for a Lower School building!
Following many answered prayers and outstanding generosity by our community, we were able to break ground on Brostrand Hall, the new Lower School building, and construction began on our campus! If you missed it, be sure to check out this first-week construction update and be on the lookout for more updates as construction progresses.
In addition to these great moments, we enjoyed classes in the innovation lab for students of all ages and making great use of the new WolfPack Den! We also participated in our favorite annual events, including Lower School I Love to Read Week, all-school chapels, spirit week, field trips, and more!
