In celebration of the letter P, the PreK4 classes welcomed several special guests to talk about their professions.
Former police chief Mitch Plumb briefly shared about his role as a police officer for 38 years before coming to Whitefield three years ago as head of security. Before leaving the class, he gave each child a picture of a beloved retired police dog named Paco and a pencil from the Smyrna Police Department. Thank you, Chief, for protecting us and helping us stay safe here at school!
The students also enjoyed a visit from State Trooper Travis Rinehart, father of current PreK4 student Paxton. The students heard how our police officers help enforce laws to keep us safe. They also learned about the importance of the equipment officers wear on their belts, shirts, and under their shirts (bullet-proof vests). The taser test demo was a highlight. Officer Rinehart also brought gifts: state trooper ink pens and junior trooper stickers. Thank you, Officer Rinehart for serving our community and sharing with our littlest ones about your job!
Finally, the students learned about the role of a park ranger from Raukisha Talley, mom of current PreK4 student Noah.
Thank you to all of our guests for spending time with us!
