It has become an annual tradition for our Jazz Band to be invited to perform during the holiday tours at the Governor's Mansion. A little bit of snow did not deter Stacy Quiros and the band from keeping their commitment to play for the public tour on Sunday, December 10. After they had played a few songs, Governor Nathan Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal stopped in to listen. They lingered for a few songs, then walked up to the band to interact and learn more about them. It was an honor and also a great PR moment for our school! The First Lady and other staff said our band's performance was by far the best of all the participants. This is just one of many gigs the Jazz Band played during the holiday season, including the Vinings Jubiliee Tree Lighting and several senior citizen homes.
On January 11, the Jazz Band played at the Consolidated Club at Dobbins Air Reserve Base for the installation ceremony dinner honoring the new class of Honorary Commanders. This program involves a partnership with Dobbins ARB and community leaders.
