As we enter into the New Year and another exciting semester of creativity, music-making, productions, concerts, art shows, auditions, competitions, and inspiration, we celebrate all the wonderful accomplishments of 2016 and eagerly anticipate God’s grace in 2017.
Recently, the Whitefield Fine Arts Department recognized senior Jessica Burnett for her status as an All-State Art Symposium winner. Also, sophomore trumpet player Donovan Pearce earned a place in the very competitive District 12 Clinic Band, and eighth-grader Jack Krahel received the honor of 1st chair tuba player in the District 12 Middle School Concert Band.
Students at our school have the opportunity to display and compete in individual art at the highest levels offered, but Whitefield Academy arts programs are also deeply committed to providing creative outlets, incremental learning environments, and a variety of performance opportunities for all of our students.
Please review the online arts calendar for all of the exciting events scheduled for second semester, including the Upper School play, the fifth- and sixth-grade play, the BEAN, Lower School Big Broadcast, Fine Arts assembly, Hats Off to the Arts (celebrating our outstanding visual arts in all three schools), Arts Days, Lower School Spring Recital, Sounds of Spring Concert, seventh- and eighth-grade musical, and Jazz By the Pond.
I look forward to witnessing the many ways in which God’s glory will be revealed through the arts in the months ahead, and the entire arts faculty rejoices in the privilege of seeing God at work each day!
