Students from the AP art and creative writing classes have collaborated to create an exhibit that will hang in Morris Hall from October 30-December 15.
The AP art students selected work from their portfolio that could inspire writers. Each creative writing student then selected two of those works, without knowing who the artist was or what the artist intended to communicate through the work. The creative writers wrote poems inspired by their perception of the art; the artists wrote artistic statements explaining their intention.
Each piece of artwork now hangs in Morris Hall, with the artistic statements and poems side by side, so that visitors can compare artistic intention and poetic perception. We hope you’ll visit the exhibit next time you’re in Morris Hall.
