During the weekend of Feb. 10-12, the Whitefield Dramatic Society attended the Georgia Thespian Conference, an annual gathering of 5,000 high school actors from all over the state. The three-day conference was full of workshops, competitions, and performances. The quality of the work is very high, and we are so proud of our students. Six of our students competed in individual events:
All six earned the highest possible rating of "superior," and Ruthie was specially selected to represent the female soloist category and perform her song, "When I Sing in my Car," for the closing showcase.
We are proud of our students for more than their performances, however. All weekend they were curious, engaged, thoughtful, considerate, and kind, proudly representing the theater program, Whitefield Academy, and the Lord.
Senior Natalie Bell (stage management)
Seniors Jessica Burnett and Ethan Powell (musical duet)
Senior Brendan Thomas (acting monologue)
Junior Ruthie Evans (musical solo)
Sophomore Alex Eaton (musical solo)
