Sophomore Donovan Pearce and eighth-grader Jack Krahel participated in the highly-competitive Georgia Music Educators District 12 Honor Bands Feb. 10-12. They had the opportunity to play with very large concert bands with full instrumentation made up of top students from Cobb and Douglas counties. Friday evening and all day Saturday were comprised of rehearsals under the baton of a college professor clinician, and Sunday afternoon included a concert performance for parents and invited guests.
Donovan participated in the District 12 Clinic Band, while Jack was first chair tuba player in the District 12 Middle School Concert Band. He was fifth chair overall out of all Middle School tubas in the two counties.
