Whitefield students donned beautiful gowns and tuxes on a perfect spring evening to attend the 2012 junior/senior prom, “A Night to Remember.”
Students met for picture parties hosted by parents before the event. Posing for pictures with dates, parents, and friends, the students enjoyed chatting with each other before heading off in limousines and cars to delicious dining spots across Atlanta for dinner before prom.
At eight o’clock everyone arrived at the beautiful Biltmore Ballroom in midtown Atlanta for prom. Built in 1924, The Biltmore Hotel was the focal point of Atlanta's business and social life for almost sixty years. The hotel underwent a total renovation in 1999 and the beautiful ballroom still features original handcrafted plaster relief ceilings, restored crystal chandeliers, Palladian windows and Tennessee marble floors.
Led by a charismatic DJ with an upbeat playlist, students danced and enjoyed wonderful food such as Yoforia. Faculty chaperones enjoyed dancing as well and reminisced about Whitefield with members of the senior class who were celebrating their last prom. The dancing continued until late evening when students finally closed down the ballroom with sore feet, but long-lasting memories.
