Instead of the typical back-to-school pool party, our eighth-graders decided to earn some community service hours by helping the wonderful people at Books for Africa sort thousands of books. Over 45 students spent two hours digging through giant containers full of books and separating them into subject categories and age levels. The students then boxed them for shipping to schools and communities in Africa.
